Steuler Tonpfeifen

Jens Steuler Tonpfeifen is a traditional clay-pipe workshop based in Hilgert, a Westerwald village with a centuries-old history of clay working and pipe making. The workshop is one of the last surviving examples of Hilgert’s once-renowned pipe-making craft. Jens Steuler and his friend Davide continue the family tradition, using methods passed down through generations, including those taught by Steuler’s great-grandfather. Each pipe is made by hand as an individual piece, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and quality rather than mass production.

The brand offers a varied range of clay pipes, including classic and long-stemmed styles, motif pipes, glazed pipes, pipe bowls and miniature jugs. Its products also include pipe-bowl bottle stoppers. Clay’s neutral taste and the cooling effect of a long stem are highlighted as distinctive benefits for pipe smokers. Customers can browse products through the online shop or contact the workshop with enquiries. Steuler Tonpfeifen ships to countries across Europe and welcomes visitors to learn about its traditional production and the heritage of pipe-making in Hilgert.
