Steve Azar

Steve Azar is a Mississippi Delta-born singer-songwriter, recording artist, producer, author, and cultural ambassador whose work celebrates the music and heritage of his home state. He has released seven studio albums and earned nine charted singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. His best-known songs include “I Don’t Have To Be Me (‘til Monday)” and “Waitin’ On Joe,” while his album My Mississippi Reunion brings together new and remastered songs inspired by his roots.

It features “One Mississippi,” written by Azar and proclaimed Mississippi’s official state song in 2022, as well as “Coldwater,” recorded with Cedric Burnside. Azar’s creative work spans music, books, film, and live performance.
