Stevenage Judo Club is a community judo club in Stevenage, welcoming beginners and more experienced members to learn and practise the sport. The club offers separate weekly sessions for juniors aged 7 to 15 and seniors aged 14 and over. Juniors train on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, followed by the senior session from 8:00 to 9:15 pm; the club is closed on bank holidays. Membership costs £20 per month, with no annual fee.
Newcomers can arrange an introductory visit by contacting the club, and their first two sessions are free. The induction introduces participants to judo rules, mat discipline and safe falling, with learning progressing at an individual pace. A judogi, or judo suit, is available to borrow during the introduction. Members who choose to continue will need a British Judo Association licence to compete and grade, as well as their own judogi; the club can help members obtain one at a discount. The website also features club information, team details, a gallery, events and fundraising updates.
