About Steypustöðin
Steypustöðin, founded in 1947, is a pioneering brand in Europe that revolutionized the construction industry in Iceland. It introduced the concept of producing concrete from concrete trucks, opening up new possibilities for construction during Iceland's prosperous era after World War II. Today, Steypustöðin is the largest ready-mix manufacturer in Iceland.
The brand's primary focus is on producing high-quality wet concrete that meets all building regulations. They prioritize product development and utilize advanced technology, employing computer-controlled processes from the concrete plant to the construction site via concrete trucks. Steypustöðin's attention to detail is maintained through their rigorous quality monitoring in their laboratory.
In addition to wet concrete, Steypustöðin operates a slab factory in Hafnafjörður, producing paving stones and related materials with precision. They also have a masonry shop in Malarhöfði, offering top-notch imported masonry materials. Their services extend to providing screed vehicles for flooring material needs in new constructions and renovations throughout Iceland.
Expanding their services further, Steypustöðin acquired Loftorka Borgarnes in 2016, allowing them to offer precast units, hollow core plates, filigree plates, and concrete pipes. They also operate mines, supplying minerals for various projects, including recycling waste materials for asphalt and concrete production.
Steypustöðin's headquarters are located in Reykjavík, with concrete plants across the country, enabling them to serve a large portion of the population's needs for concrete, paving stones, slabs, masonry, and precast units. With an impressive production capacity and recognized excellence in the industry, Steypustöðin continues to play a crucial role in shaping Iceland's construction landscape.
