St Francis Paddling Club

St Francis Bay Paddling Club is a community paddling organization based in St Francis Bay, South Africa, welcoming paddlers to take part in regular social and competitive activities. The club invites members and newcomers to meet on Wednesdays at 17:30 at Mayotte Circle on the canals for a time trial or an informal paddle. Its setting offers sheltered canal routes, paddling on the Kromme River, which is navigable for 14 kilometres, and typically calm conditions in the bay. More adventurous paddlers can also explore downwind routes to Jeffreys Bay and Oyster Bay.

The club supports an active racing calendar, including the Easter King of the Kromme, the Canals Winter Challenge, the Sporty Anderson at Christmas, and the New Year’s Day Canal Race. Other events include the Gamtoos, Shark Point Doubles, and South African Championships, which are regularly held in the area.
