Stichting Toppie

Stichting Toppie! was a nonprofit organization focused on improving understanding and support for people with autism and developmental delays, particularly young people and young adults, and their families and wider networks. Founded in the Netherlands in 2013, with a sister foundation established in Suriname the same year, it promoted the belief that every person has unique abilities and deserves a positive, meaningful place in society. Its work emphasized recognizing opportunities rather than limitations and using a coordinated approach to support individual development and family wellbeing.

The foundation shared knowledge and lived experience through information, conversations, lectures, and training in the Netherlands and Suriname. It also encouraged collaboration among care providers, organizations, and foundations, aiming to help people with autism progress toward education, day activities, or employment where appropriate. Toppie! welcomed volunteers, partners, and donors to contribute to its social mission and held recognized ANBI nonprofit status in the Netherlands. The organization has announced that it is ending its activities, citing personal circumstances and the demands of caring for a family member. It expressed gratitude to its supporters and hope that the awareness and knowledge shared will continue to foster understanding and cooperation.
