Stichting De Schakel Leende

Stichting De Schakel is a care organisation in Leende, in the Dutch province of Brabant, supporting people with intellectual disabilities to participate in society as fully as possible. It provides expert care through residential support, daytime activities and short-stay accommodation. Its services are based at a distinctive location near the Strabrechtse Heide, where residents can enjoy the surrounding woodland, space and tranquillity.

The residential group offers a safe home and daily guidance, while encouraging residents to live as independently as possible. Staff focus on each person’s abilities and support residents in retaining responsibility and freedom. The daytime programme offers opportunities to taste, learn and grow through hospitality activities, delivered in collaboration with Bij Puur. Short stays give guests the chance to explore and experience a stay with De Schakel.

The organisation also welcomes prospective residents, families and others to arrange an introductory visit. Through its care and activities, Stichting De Schakel aims to create opportunities for people with disabilities to develop and take part in everyday life.
