Stichting Groenbroek

Stichting Groenbroek is a foundation dedicated to conserving, restoring and strengthening nature and biodiversity in the municipality of Laarbeek and its surrounding rural areas. It combines respect for traditional natural values with attention to future environmental challenges, supporting a healthy living environment for people, animals, soil and wildlife. The foundation advances its mission through knowledge sharing, education, activities and practical projects that make nature more visible and accessible.

A central part of its work is De Broedplaats van Boer en Natuur, a collaborative, hands-on initiative that brings farmers together with researchers, residents, students and businesses. Rather than relying only on top-down rules or reports, the Broedplaats encourages open research, field experiments and practical learning. Participants explore approaches to healthier soils, animals and agricultural products, while sharing both lessons and results. The initiative aims to connect agricultural practice, science and policy, and to support future-ready farming that respects people, animals and the earth.
