Stichting Muk tegen Kinderdementie is a Dutch foundation dedicated to helping Muk, a five-year-old girl with Sanfilippo type A, a rare and progressive inherited disease often called childhood dementia. The condition damages brain cells and can gradually affect speech, movement, independence, memory, and recognition; skills lost are generally not regained. The foundation’s central aim is to help Muk access a potential treatment as soon as it is medically suitable and available.

It raises donations to prepare for FAYUVI, formerly known as UX111, a one-time gene therapy designed to address the missing enzyme behind Sanfilippo type A. The US Food and Drug Administration approved the treatment on September 17, 2026, offering new hope, although whether and when Muk can receive it, and what results it might bring, remain uncertain. Donations may help cover treatment-related costs, medical preparation, travel, accommodation, support, and unforeseen expenses.
