Stiftung München

Stiftung München is a civic foundation established in 2013 by engaged citizens to strengthen community involvement and the common good in Munich. It connects individuals, businesses, nonprofit organisations and local initiatives, collecting donations and other contributions to launch, support and deliver projects that benefit the city. Its priorities include youth and senior support, education, school-based health and drug prevention, civic engagement, assistance for people facing financial hardship, and Ukraine relief.

The foundation funds and helps connect educational and prevention programmes, supports young people and older residents, and backs social projects that foster solidarity, respect and opportunity. It also encourages people and companies to contribute ideas and resources, and promotes cooperation, dialogue and mutual support across Munich’s civil society. Current work includes support for the DOK.fest Munich’s “School of Seeing” media education programme and assistance for a senior citizens’ shared lunch initiative. The foundation also appeals for donations to help children at a cancer hospital in Kyiv obtain urgently needed medical prostheses.
