Stiftung Tierheim Olten

Stiftung Tierheim Olten is a charitable, tax-exempt operating foundation established in 1984 by Susanne Klein. Its purpose is to help fund the upkeep of the property and sustain the animal shelter’s work. Located in Wangen bei Olten, the shelter occupies a site of more than 12,000 square metres with several buildings, providing temporary or permanent homes for up to 400 homeless cats, dogs and small animals.

The foundation aims to meet the social needs and wellbeing of the animals in its care. As part of this commitment, it began renovating and expanding its three dog accommodation wings in 2015. Once the work is complete, these facilities are intended to accommodate a total of 60 dogs.

Stiftung Tierheim Olten relies on donations, bequests and contributions from supporting foundations to fulfil its mission. It receives no financial support from the federal or cantonal governments and welcomes financial assistance from people who wish to help maintain the shelter and its services.
