Stillridge Labs is an independent software studio based in Calgary, Alberta, founded by software developer Todd Zmetana. The studio creates practical tools for everyday needs, guided by a commitment to respect users: it has no investors, runs no advertising, and does not sell personal data. Its products earn revenue through optional subscriptions or anonymous aggregate insights, and its servers are located in Alberta, keeping user data in Canada.
Available products include Silo, which shares grocery prices reported by shoppers so people can compare what stores actually charge; Slate, a calendar of upcoming episodes for the television shows users follow, without recommendations or a feed; and Sunstead, a home solar monitoring tool that tracks panel output, relates energy bills to applicable rates, and monitors circuit-level usage with a home energy monitor. Stillridge Labs is also developing RouterLog, which records and organizes home internet outages, and Porchlight, which stores home camera footage on user-owned hardware and storage. These two tools are not yet released.
