St. John’s School is an international childcare and preschool in Cascais, Portugal, serving children from 1 to 5 years old. It provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where early learning is shaped by the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the English National Curriculum. Children aged 3 to 5 follow the Foundation Stage, building a foundation for future learning through planned, integrated and age-appropriate activities.

The school’s programme supports personal, social and emotional development; communication, language and literacy, including Jolly Phonics; early maths and problem-solving; understanding the world; physical development; and creativity. Learning is primarily play-based, with activities such as pre-reading and pre-writing, number games, and an introduction to technology. Teachers build on each child’s interests, experiences and existing skills, encouraging confidence, independence and enthusiasm for learning.

St. John’s also offers extracurricular activities, an activities schedule and a summer school. Its weekday opening hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Families can contact the school or arrange a visit to learn more about its childcare and preschool services.
