SMP Early Readers is a book-reviewer program from St. Martin’s Press, a publisher whose titles span fiction, nonfiction, young adult, romance, business, wellness, and other genres. The program gives selected reviewers early access to upcoming books, helping them discover new releases and share honest opinions with their audiences.
Members receive monthly emails with access to digital advance review copies through NetGalley. Once each season—Winter, Spring/Summer, and Fall—they may also request physical books, although quantities are limited and selection is not guaranteed. Applications open for a limited period, and members must reapply each year. Applicants must be at least 18, live in the United States or Canada, and have an active social media profile with more than 1,000 followers.
St. Martin’s Press says it gives equitable consideration to reviewers from marginalized and underrepresented groups. Reviews are unpaid, and recipients must clearly disclose free books or other items in their posts. Those who are not selected can request titles through SMP’s NetGalley catalog, subject to its approval preferences.
