STOL Air Solutions

STOL Air Solutions Ltd was formed in 2014 to serve the humanitarian sector with short-takeoff and landing (STOL) capacity. It operates de Havilland Canada DHC-5 Buffalo aircraft, turboprop utility transports developed from the DHC-4 Caribou. Their exceptional short-field performance enables operations in places that other aircraft or transport methods may not reach, supporting specialist missions in challenging locations.

The company offers aircraft leasing, including ACMI arrangements in which a lessor provides an aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance to another airline, with payment based on operating hours. STOL Air Solutions also provides animal relocation services. The Buffalo’s rear-loading cargo hold and STOL capabilities make it suitable for transporting wildlife and livestock to remote conservation areas, national parks, and game reserves. The company works with conservation organisations, game ranchers, veterinarians, and wildlife authorities, with attention to careful handling and regulatory compliance. Other mission examples include vehicle transport by air. Overall, STOL Air Solutions focuses on specialist air transport for operations where access, aircraft capability, and cargo requirements are central.
