Bundesvereinigung Stottern & Selbsthilfe e.V. BVSS

Stottern & Selbsthilfe Nord e.V. is a regional association bringing together stuttering self-help groups and members of the German Federal Association for Stuttering Self-Help across Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg, and Bremen. The organization supports people who stutter through information, community activities, and opportunities to connect with others. The association also organizes seminars and shares information about events offered by regional and national self-help organizations. Its activities include public outreach and creative projects designed to increase understanding of stuttering. In Hamburg, the stuttering theater group Block-Busters has staged productions, including Stotterpunk and Yasmina Reza’s comedy Art; Stotterpunk was also filmed and made available through the federal association’s YouTube channel. The group’s activities include a walking and conversation group that combines informal peer exchange with local excursions. Stottern & Selbsthilfe Nord also publicizes regional and international conferences and welcomes participants from beyond Hamburg to selected activities.
