St. Petersburg Country Club is a private, member-owned club in St. Petersburg, Florida, offering members and their families a welcoming place to enjoy recreation, events, and community. Founded in 1924, the club grew from a golf course designed by renowned architect Herbert Strong for the Lakewood Estates neighborhood. Its historic clubhouse has long served as a gathering place, and the club continues to emphasize attentive service, enduring traditions, and a relaxed, home-away-from-home atmosphere.
Golf is a central offering. The original Herbert Strong course received a 2024 renovation with design consultation from PGA Tour veteran Gary Koch, creating a modern interpretation of its classic Old Florida character. The club also provides racquet facilities, including nine Har-Tru tennis courts and six pickleball courts, plus a stocked Pro Shop with racquet stringing. Members can join organized play, leagues, tournaments, social events, and instruction for adults and juniors.
For gatherings, the club offers a ballroom, courtyard, patio, outdoor event area, conference room, and 1924 Room.
