Strangford Sailing Club, established in 1946, is a renowned RYA recognized Training Club situated on the beautiful shores of Castleward Bay, overlooking the stunning Strangford Narrows to Portaferry. The club offers a wide range of sailing products and services, catering to both seasoned sailors and beginners alike. They have an enthusiastic Junior Section that sails Toppers, Lasers & Optimists on Friday evenings and Sundays during the season.

In addition to this, the club conducts training courses during school holidays, providing a comprehensive learning experience for aspiring sailors. The club has a rich history, starting with racing for Strangford Lough Fishing Punts in the late 1940s and evolving into the Wychcraft Class in the 1950s. Today, they boast a very active fleet of Flying Fifteens that compete at National and International events.

The club's modern clubhouse and slipway, located in Seafront Rd, offer a comfortable and convenient base for members, while their sheltered anchorage is perfect for cruising enthusiasts. Visitors to the club are always welcome and can pick up suitable vacant moorings for short stays. Showers and full amenities are available, while Portaferry Marina and Strangford Harbour provide additional facilities.
