Stray Haven Dog Rescue

Stray Haven Dog Rescue is a volunteer-supported animal rescue based in Giolou, Cyprus, dedicated to protecting stray and abandoned dogs and helping them find safe, permanent homes. Founded by Nieske De Jonge, the rescue has grown from caring for a small number of dogs to supporting around 140. Over five years, it has helped hundreds of dogs move to “forever homes” across Europe. Dogs in its care receive refuge, food and veterinary attention; the organization reports that all its dogs are vaccinated and spayed or neutered, with puppies given priority for vaccination.

Stray Haven connects prospective adopters with dogs needing homes and seeks temporary foster placements when animals cannot remain at the shelter. Its work also depends on volunteers who assist with rehoming, shelter activities and the organization’s furniture shop. Donations help cover essentials including shelter and shop rent, food, veterinary bills, medicines, fuel and vehicle maintenance. The rescue also welcomes community support through fundraising events and contributions of time, skills or money.
