About Streetlights Uganda
Streetlights Uganda is a local non-profit organization that uses art to empower homeless children on the streets, also known as street-connected children. Their mission is to study, discover, and nurture the talents and abilities of these children, providing them with a brighter future. Streetlights Uganda offers a range of programs and activities that focus on skills development, talent discovery, fun time, and psychological support.
Through their Mwalimu Mentorship Program, young individuals learn how to inspire and guide others in their communities, avoiding negative influences. The Ntunga Program teaches valuable skills such as bag-making, dressmaking, and shirt-making, while also fostering friendship and connection among participants. Additionally, Streetlights Uganda helps children build confidence and take on leadership roles through their tailored programs.
