Studentnätet (SHS), also known as Studentnätet vid Högskolan I Skövde, is a non-profit society dedicated to providing internet connectivity to students and student organizations located in student apartments near HiS campus. Established in the early 2000s, SHS offers a shared 10Gbps connection, ensuring a baseline speed of 100/100mbps for its members.

SHS is not an internet service provider (ISP), but rather a membership-based organization that offers internet access as a perk. It is run entirely by volunteers, including two groups responsible for supporting and maintaining its infrastructure. The support group assists members with technical issues related to the internet connection, while the administrator group handles the development and monitoring of the SHS systems.

By becoming part of the SHS admin group, students have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in handling live running systems, improving their competence in the IT field. Additionally, SHS offers short educational courses for its members, covering various areas such as networking, Linux, open-source software, project management, scripting, IT security, and web development.
