About Studio Durga
Studio Durga is India's first anime studio, specializing in creating hand-drawn animation films in the style of Japanese manga comics. As a wholly independent studio, we are proud to bring the art form of anime to the Indian audience. Our passion lies in storytelling, and we aim to captivate teens and young adults with our original and powerful narratives.
Our flagship project, Karmachakra, is an animated series set in India and animated in the style of anime. Conceived in 2016, it led to the formation of Studio Durga in 2017. The pilot episode of Karmachakra has already earned recognition, winning the Platinum Award for Best Animation Short at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles 2020. Additionally, it received Honourable Mentions for Best Webseries/TV Pilot and Best Original Score.
