Studi Ravennati

The Società di Studi Ravennati is a cultural organization dedicated to fostering interest in Ravenna, its history, monuments, and relationship with the surrounding territory. Founded in 1992, it supports ongoing learning and invites residents and researchers to contribute ideas for study and research. Its work brings together humanities and scientific disciplines, with the aim of helping safeguard and promote the area’s cultural, historical, and heritage value.

The Society shares research through publications, including the journal Ravenna studi e ricerche, monographs, newsletters, and conference proceedings. Its titles include collected writings by historian Giuseppe Gerola and studies of Ravenna’s history and culture. It also organizes and promotes events with public and private cultural institutions, such as book presentations, conferences, and meetings on subjects ranging from ecclesiastical archives to art, symbolism, and local history. Publications and events feature contributions from established scholars as well as emerging researchers, encouraging new topics and approaches. The Society welcomes inquiries, research proposals, and community participation, and offers information about becoming a member.
