In 2019, the first co-studying space in Sofia opened its doors for the first time. It is called StudyHub and is an idea of Association “Students in action”. StudyHub is a co-studying space, working in a similar way to a co-working space. It has areas for individual studying, as well as such for group projects, networking between students of different universities and specialties, and educational events and lectures. StudyHub is located in Studentski grad, close to public transport stations. It works 24/7, has constant video surveillance for security and is wheelchair accessible. The access to StudyHub is granted via subscription cards, available for students of any university. Association “Students in Action” is the organization that created StudyHub. It consists of 5 young people Marty, Tsvety, Acho, Lacho and Yo, studying in two metropolitan universities – Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and New Bulgarian University. The idea was born due to the fact that Studentski grad is overflowing with over 200 coffee shops, night clubs, etc, but in the whole neighborhood there is only one library. That has urged the students Marty and Tsvety to look for a quieter place to study, for example – a gas station. Where, as it turns out, they met lots of other students who also experienced their problem. That’s how StudyHub was born – a place which aims to grant young people in Sofia a 24-hour accessible place to study. A place where they can read up, collaborate with each other and develop their skills in the process of finishing their Bachelor’s degree and starting their professional realization.
