About StandUp4Elephants
StandUp4Elephants is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Nepal that is dedicated to improving the lives of captive elephants. Founded by passionate animal lovers, they believe that true sustainable change can only be achieved through education and compassion. StandUp4Elephants works closely with the local community in the Chitwan region, engaging with elephant owners and offering free care and treatments for the elephants, as well as support for the mahouts (elephant caretakers).
Their objective is to bring about a change in perspective regarding the ownership and use of elephants, with a focus on abolishing particularly cruel practices. StandUp4Elephants officially became an established non-profit organization in 2018. They also have a dedicated team, including specialized elephant keepers, managers, and support staff who work tirelessly to ensure the welfare of the elephants.
StandUp4Elephants welcomes donations and encourages individuals to become members to support their cause. Visitors can also book a visit to their sanctuary in Nepal, where they can witness firsthand the important work being done to protect and care for elephants
