Submerged Productions is a maritime history and diving resource founded by Peter Mitchell, a lifelong scuba diver and author whose work focused on shipwrecks around Devon and beyond. The website preserves and shares his research, combining the stories of individual vessels with practical information about their locations and the contemporary diving experience. Its archive covers the Devon coast and other notable wreck-diving destinations, including Scapa Flow in Scotland and Truk Lagoon in Micronesia. Special features explore subjects such as wreck walks, submarine history, wartime ammunition and shipwreck trails.
Submerged also presents material from Mitchell’s books and documentaries. The Wreckers Guide to South West Devon, in two parts, remains available as a digital Kindle book, while its former print editions and DVDs are no longer sold. The full-length documentary films can be watched free on YouTube. Maintained by Mitchell’s son, Chris, the site continues its founder’s work as a lasting archive of maritime history and a place for readers and divers to explore the connections between past events and present-day wreck sites.
