The Alto Adige Wine Road fascinates with its magical diversity: it is a paradise for wine lovers, hikers, gourmets and for everyone who likes swimming. Scenic places invite you to take walks, easy hiking tours and bike tours, passing lakes, magnificent residences, vineyards and apple orchards. The Alto Adige Wine Road stretches from Nalles, through the state capital Bolzano, until Salorno. The towns and people who live there are influenced by the long wine tradition and, with their customs and culture, play an active role in the fascination that makes up Italy's northernmost wine-growing region. With 300 days of sunshine a year and a mild, Mediterranean-like climate, the Alto Adige Wine Road is not only a popular travel destination, but also the home of the region's most significant wines. With almost 4,300 hectares of vineyards, it represents 84 percent of all viticulture from Alto Adige. The Alto Adige Wine Road Association was founded in 2000 with the following aim: to highlight the uniqueness of this territory. The association's members today include 16 municipalities, 10 tourism organizations, almost 70 wineries and other important partners. Together they develop concepts that strengthen and promote the desirability of this impressive place.
