Suganar S. A., known as Subastas ganaderas del Urabá grande, is a renowned brand that specializes in livestock auctions. With a focus on the development of the Urabá region, Suganar expanded its activities in 2012 to include the cultivation and promotion of oil palm.

The project began with the establishment of pre-nurseries and nurseries for both their own crops and third-party cultivators interested in diversifying. Suganar strictly produces HYBRID PALM (e guinensis x e. Colombia, where Suganar operates, is the leading producer of palm oil in the Americas and the fourth-largest globally, producing approximately 1,143,000 tons annually (as of 2016).

Oil palm cultivation is highly beneficial, as it generates six times more oil per hectare than sunflower and nine times more than soybean. Furthermore, the palm oil industry provides more employment opportunities per unit of land compared to other oil crops. It also contributes to mitigating climate change, as the use of biodiesel significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions by over 80%.
