The EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK campaign is an excellent opportunity to promote sustainable mobility to urban residents and progress towards a more sustainable, efficient and pleasant mobility culture. Cities and towns can register their participation from 16 – 22 September, while other organisations can register their MOBILITY ACTIONS year round. EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK is organised with the political and financial support of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport.

About CIVITAS SUMPs

SUMPs-Up is a pivotal initiative under the European Union's CIVITAS 2020 program, focused on enhancing sustainable urban mobility across Europe. It unites eight partner organizations and seven cities, collectively working to help urban planning authorities adopt Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs). The project's primary goal is to overcome barriers to the implementation of SUMPs through capacity building, tailored information, and comprehensive support during the planning and execution phases.

With an emphasis on cities where SUMP adoption is particularly low, SUMPs-Up aims to empower nearly 600 cities, providing significant resources and knowledge exchange through its Innovation Pilot Pool, composed of 100 cities. These cities serve as role models, showcasing advanced practices in SUMP development. Additionally, SUMPs-Up collaborates with other CIVITAS initiatives, including PROSPERITY and SUITS, to foster cohesive, energy-efficient transport strategies and to address the pressing transport challenges facing urban areas. Through these efforts, SUMPs-Up is setting the stage for cleaner, more sustainable mobility solutions in cities across Europe.
