Sundrops Cares

Sundrops Montessori CARES (CARES) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit scholarship program supporting the students and community of The Sundrops Montessori School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Founded in 2024, the organization brings families together through fundraising events and uses community support to expand access to Montessori education. Its central service is providing scholarships to Sundrops students, helping families access an educational approach that encourages independence, curiosity, compassion, and a lifelong love of learning.

CARES supports children from six weeks of age through ninth grade, with the aim of nurturing confident, capable learners who can contribute positively to the Lowcountry and beyond. For the 2025–2026 school year, the organization awarded four scholarships. It plans to host additional fundraising events to increase scholarship opportunities in the future.

Sundrops Montessori CARES also invites community members to give, learn more about the school, and connect with its work. Its vision is a diverse school community where every child, regardless of financial background, can benefit from Montessori education
