Sundsvalls Djurhem

Sundsvalls Djurhem is an animal welfare organization serving the Sundsvall and Timrå area, guided by the belief that every animal deserves a home. Its work focuses primarily on helping found, lost and abandoned animals, especially cats. The organization supports efforts to reunite missing pets with their families and shares notices about animals found or seeking owners. When space allows, it may also accept cats that need a new home; these cats must be neutered, identified and vaccinated.

Sundsvalls Djurhem arranges foster homes where animals can receive care while waiting to be reunited with their owners or placed in a permanent home. Foster carers provide daily attention, while the organization covers veterinary costs and supplies essentials such as food, litter, bowls and carriers. It seeks foster homes without other animals and without children under six, to help protect and assess animals during a stressful transition.

The organization also offers guidance on what to do when a cat is found or goes missing, and welcomes support through donations, community involvement and foster care.
