SUNERGY is a brand that is dedicated to accelerating the development of renewable energy carriers. As part of the SUNER-C project, which is funded by the European Union, SUNERGY brings together 30 different EU partners to work on building an ecosystem of companies, researchers, societal actors, and policymakers. The goal is to replace fossil fuels with next-generation energy carriers, such as solar fuels and chemicals, that can be produced on a large scale.

These energy carriers are based on the transformation of abundant compounds, like carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen, into synthetic fuels, chemicals, and materials using renewable energy. SUNERGY aims to develop a common vision and a technological roadmap for the implementation of these technologies, and to promote communication, dissemination, and education in the field. By catalyzing the development and integration of solar fuels and chemicals, SUNERGY aims to contribute to increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix, improving Europe's autonomy in key strategic value chains, and responding to consumers' increasing demand for sustainable products.
