Sunny Speech

Sunny Speech is a mobile paediatric speech pathology practice serving Melbourne’s northern suburbs. Founded by Emma Jordan-Rooney, a speech pathologist who graduated from Australian Catholic University in 2018, the practice provides early intervention for children aged 0–9. Emma’s experience spans mainstream and special developmental schools, community settings and work with families. Her lived experience of disability also informs her understanding of the challenges families may face.

Sunny Speech offers comprehensive speech and communication assessments and evidence-based therapy tailored to each child. Support covers speech sounds and articulation, expressive and receptive language, social communication, stuttering, literacy, augmentative and alternative communication, and sensory-based feeding difficulties. Sessions take place in the child’s home or community environments, including childcare, kindergarten and school, connecting therapy with everyday life.

The practice takes a collaborative, neurodiversity-affirming approach, working with children, parents and carers, educators, and other supports. It also helps families navigate the NDIS, consider school options and connect with community services.
