Sunshine

Sunshine Village is a community-focused organization serving adults with diverse support needs across Agawam, Chicopee, and Palmer, Massachusetts. Guided by its goal of making every day a great day, it creates opportunities for people to learn, build independence, develop relationships, and participate in community life.

Its services include four MassHealth-funded day programs for adults aged 18 and older, with personalized support for life skills, social development, and independence. On-site nursing, master’s-level clinicians, and access to therapy services help support participants’ needs. Community Based Day Services offers career development through volunteering and community experiences, where clients can strengthen communication, teamwork, professionalism, and self-advocacy. Employment Services provides on-the-job training and support, including opportunities through Westover Maintenance Systems, Sunshine Village’s commercial cleaning company. For young adults on the autism spectrum, multidisciplinary programs promote autonomy and community engagement through activities such as book clubs, culinary arts, and financial literacy, with access to speech and occupational therapy. Across its programs, Sunshine Village emphasizes meaningful experiences, personal growth, and the chance for each person to shine.
