Sunshine Jiu Jitsu Academy

Sunshine Jiu Jitsu Academy is a martial arts school in Centerville, Washington, located in a distinctive red barn and serving the Klickitat County community. Founded by black belt Zachary Minteer, the academy aims to help students build skills, confidence, fitness, and personal potential through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Classes are open to all experience levels, from newcomers to dedicated practitioners, and are structured around standup techniques, groundwork, and sparring. The academy also incorporates competition-focused instruction to introduce students to martial arts tournaments.

Programs include adult Gi Jiu Jitsu, which teaches techniques using the traditional uniform, and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, focused on grappling without it. A children’s program is available for ages four and up, emphasizing respect, control, and confidence. Students can choose membership options for training three times weekly or unlimited attendance, as well as class punch cards and a family pass. New students can try a free week before committing, and a three-month membership voucher is also offered.
