Sunyata

Sunyata Aikido Dojo is a martial arts club in Heggedal, Asker, about 25 kilometres from Oslo. Founded in 1984 by chief instructor Mouliko Halén, a seventh-dan practitioner who has trained in Aikido since 1973, the dojo has been based in Heggedal since 2010. It is affiliated with Aikido Kobayashi Dojo and welcomes people interested in learning Aikido in a friendly, supportive environment.

The club offers classes for children aged 6–13 and for adults, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Training focuses on Aikido’s physical and mental principles, including discipline, self-control, confidence and respect. Separate sessions cover traditional weapons such as jo, bokken and tanto, while additional practice includes Katori, Roppokai Daito Ryu and internal-power exercises. The dojo also holds grading sessions and hosts seminars led by its instructors and visiting international teachers.

Women and men train together, and experienced members help newcomers learn. Prospective students are invited to attend a trial class.
