Connie Bowman is an author, actress, and voiceover talent whose work includes children’s books that explore family life, imagination, and understanding. Her featured book, Super Socks, follows Molly and her younger sister Katie, who has Down syndrome. Katie takes part in everyday activities, makes friends, and helps Molly choose wonderfully mismatched socks for school.
Through a warm, playful story, the book highlights the joys and challenges of having a sibling with a disability and encourages patience, awareness, and acceptance. Super Socks is illustrated by Kelly O’Neill, whose whimsical artwork brings the story to life. Readers can also enjoy a Super Socks song, available on Spotify and iTunes, and attend Connie’s read-and-sing-along events.
Bowman has also written Back to Happy and Beau’s Day Care Day. Alongside her writing, she works as an actress and voiceover talent. Based in Maryland, she enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, running, and teaching yoga.
Her books and related events offer families and educators engaging ways to share stories and start conversations
