Supervised Access Ireland (SAI) provides nationwide, child-focused family services across Ireland, supporting children, families, solicitors, social workers and court-related arrangements. Established in 2007, the organisation offers professionally managed supervised and supported contact, structured handovers, supervised access transport and access venues. Its practice is safeguarding-led and based on professional observation: practitioners record what they see and hear, including a child’s own words and observable presentation where appropriate, to help ensure the child’s voice is accurately represented.
Staff receive role-specific training in safeguarding, professional boundaries, observation and factual reporting, and relevant staff are Garda vetted in line with applicable requirements. Additional services include emergency and international supervised family visitation, reunification planning, family access consultancy, home study assessments and reports, family mediation, interpretation, and child advocacy and Voice of the Child services for court. SAI also lists psychology, psychotherapy, drama therapy and art therapy services.
Its approach emphasises children’s welfare and emotional safety, professional neutrality, respectful communication and accountable support tailored to each family’s circumstances
