About LAFD Foundation
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation is a vital nonprofit organization that supports the LAFD in its mission to save lives and protect communities. With only 3% of the city's fire budget allocated to life-safety costs, the foundation fills critical funding gaps to provide essential tools, equipment, and programs. The foundation channels donations from various sources into tangible resources that help firefighters in their duty to safeguard the people of Los Angeles.
They have provided specialized equipment like wildland bulldozers, night-vision flight goggles, thermal imaging cameras, and swift-water rescue boats. Additionally, the LAFD Foundation administers the Adopt-A-Fire-Station program, enhancing the living and working conditions in all 106 fire stations, and funding numerous outreach and education programs for the youth. By assisting every LAFD firefighter with crucial equipment like structure fire safety gloves, carcinogen-blocking flame-resistant hoods, and heavy-duty rescue flashlights, the foundation ensures the safety of these brave individuals.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the LAFD Foundation is dedicated to supporting the LAFD's tireless efforts in keeping the city safe
