About Surfers Cove

Surfers Cove is a surf and leisure destination in Portugal, described as the country’s first wave pool. Located in Óbidos, it uses Wavegarden® technology to create waves for beginners through to high-performance surfers, offering a place to learn, train and surf without relying on ocean conditions. The pool is designed to provide a controlled environment for sessions that can be shared with friends or family.

Beyond surfing, Surfers Cove brings together a five-hectare Surf Village combining nature, lifestyle and technology. Visitors can book surf and accommodation packages, with an integrated tourist village intended to support longer stays. On-site facilities include a restaurant and bars, as well as a skate park, padel and beach tennis courts, beach volleyball and a gym. The destination is presented as suitable for families, athletes and people interested in an active, healthy lifestyle.

Surfers Cove also promotes community membership and surf sessions, with limited early-booking offers advertised on its website. Professional surfer and Olympic silver medallist Kanoa Igarashi is identified as an investor and founding member.
