About Surreal-ITN
SURREAL is an Innovative Training Network (ITN) that focuses on the impact of environmental exposures on health and health-related behaviors. The network aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationships between exposures to environments, behaviors, and urban health. SURREAL conducts cutting-edge research, promotes co-creation, and collaborates with academics and stakeholders to identify, implement, and evaluate interventions at the individual and urban level to improve health and health equity.
The network trains the next generation of professionals in urban health through unique and creative training formats, such as Collaborative Learning in Practice (CLiP). With a team of 15 Early Stage Researchers, SURREAL tackles the complexity of the urban health system to improve our understanding of its impact on cardiovascular and mental health. The network also focuses on designing cities that promote exercise and healthy eating.
