Malasana is an enlightening yoga practice that highlights the connection between traditional poses and everyday sanitation practices, particularly in India. As a deep squatting posture, often referred to as the Garland Pose, Malasana not only aids in digestion but also reflects a broader understanding of health related to toilet use. Isabell Hedke, a WASH and global health professional, discovered the health benefits of squatting during her yoga classes in India, where this pose is reminiscent of how many individuals use toilets.

The brand focuses on promoting awareness around sanitation and health, emphasizing the importance of cultural practices and individual needs. It aims to foster conversations about sanitation systems, access, and health benefits linked to different toilet postures. Through research and real-life experiences, the brand explores how traditional behaviors can serve as solutions to modern public health challenges. By bridging the gap between yoga and sanitation, Malasana encourages an appreciation for diverse cultural practices and their influence on health and wellbeing.
