About SAII
SAII is a Non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture in the East and Horns of Africa. It was established in 2009 as part of the SustaiNet program initiated by the German Council for Sustainable Development. SAII's mission is to encourage good agricultural practices throughout the value chains, which includes participatory approaches, documentation, knowledge sharing, information management, and capacity building of stakeholders in the region.
Their vision is to ensure that sustainable agriculture is widely adopted and practiced in Eastern Africa. SAII works closely with Sustainet Group Limited, a Nairobi-based consultancy firm, for technical expertise and project implementation. They have implemented various programs and projects targeting specific communities in Kenya, East Africa, and the Horns of Africa.
With a network of 209 NGOs/CBOs and a reach out to 1. 5 million small-holder farmers, SAII focuses on increasing agricultural productivity and profitability, eradicating hunger and poverty, while conserving natural resources
