Sutter Yuba Community Foundation

Sutter Yuba Community Foundation (SYCF) is a public charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting people and organizations in California’s Sutter and Yuba counties. Founded in 2007, the foundation is led by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and has no paid staff. Its focus is keeping charitable giving local: donations support community needs in the region through grants and educational scholarships.

SYCF provides year-round grant opportunities for local 501(c)(3) organizations working to address critical community needs. It also offers multiple scholarship options for local students, with applications opening each October. In addition to these programs, the foundation invites donors to contribute, establish a fund, and get involved in its community work. Its flagship Tamale Day fundraiser brings people together to raise support for local causes.

The foundation emphasizes that contributions are distributed within Sutter and Yuba counties, helping charitable organizations and students close to home. Through its grants, scholarships, fundraising events, and donor engagement, SYCF works to strengthen the communities it serves.
