Schulenberg-Horstedt

Schützenverein Schulenberg-Horstedt e. V. is a community shooting club founded in 1898, with around 260 members, most of whom come from the municipality of Prinzhöfte and its villages.

The association brings together local residents through shooting, music, and seasonal celebrations. It has its own women’s group and maintains a marching band, known as a Spielmannszug. The club’s main event is its annual Schützenfest, held on the Friday and Saturday before the Pentecost weekend and opened with a public Ascension Day concert.

On the second day, participants compete for the title of shooting king or queen, alongside a youth trophy and children’s royal titles; younger children can also try crossbow shooting. The club also hosts an Erntedank harvest festival on the last Saturday in September, featuring a themed evening ball. Practice shooting sessions take place several times a year.

The association organizes other local events and offers its hall for rental. Information about the club, its history, leadership, events, and current dignitaries is available through its website and social media
