Michal Švec is an independent shoemaker whose workshop creates bespoke footwear for women and men using traditional hand-sewn Goodyear welt construction. Drawing on generations of shoemaking knowledge while embracing contemporary design, he makes formal, smart and casual shoes tailored to each client’s needs. The process begins with a consultation about the shoes’ intended use, style, shape and materials.

For a first order, Švec measures the customer’s feet and makes individual lasts, then produces trial shoes for several weeks of wear before refining the fit and completing the final pair. This detailed process typically takes six to eight months, and the lasts are kept for future orders. Shoes are made predominantly from carefully selected leather, including leather soles and linings, with an emphasis on comfort, durability and repairability.
