SV Hellas

Schwimmverein “Hellas” Apen & Barßel von 1970 e. V. is a community swimming club dedicated to promoting swimming as both a recreational activity and a competitive sport.

Serving people interested in swimming, the club offers a progression of activities that includes water familiarisation, swimming instruction, youth programmes, competitive swimming, and masters and recreational training. Its competitive pathway helps swimmers develop and apply techniques in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly, while taking part in meets and pursuing personal bests and other sporting goals. For adult swimmers, the masters programme provides training adapted to their needs, with opportunities to improve technique and compete; it welcomes both former competitive swimmers and people who have taken up the sport later in life.

The club also emphasises enjoyment, variety, and team spirit in training, alongside support from coaches and the swimming community. SV Hellas organises and participates in swimming events, including meets and championships with neighbouring and affiliated clubs
