Schweizerischer Verband für Tierphysiotherapie SVTPT is the official professional organization for animal physiotherapists in Switzerland. Founded in 1998, it is recognized by the Swiss Physiotherapy Association (physioswiss) and the Swiss Society of Veterinary Medicine (GST). SVTPT offers a preparatory course for the Higher Professional Examination (HFP) for animal physiotherapists with a federal diploma, as well as additional training in animal physiotherapy.
Animal physiotherapists analyze and identify functional problems in the animal's body, providing a physiotherapy diagnosis and offering appropriate treatment solutions. They coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration and instruct in optimal management, home exercises, and the use of aids. Regular continuing education is required to maintain the professional title.
By promoting professional education and ensuring quality in animal physiotherapy, SVTPT represents the professional and economic interests of its members. These highly skilled professionals contribute significantly to animal health and interdisciplinary collaboration in animal healthcare
