Swabber is a free sexual health app designed to help partners make informed decisions and reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It promotes sexual responsibility, accountability, and informed consent while balancing a person’s privacy with a partner’s right to know about potential exposure. Users can upload STI test results from a care provider and receive a validated status authentication that expires after one year. The app also provides a Sexual Responsibility Score, based on sexual behaviors, to encourage frequent testing, safer-sex education, and connections with tested partners.
Swabber offers secure profiles through which users choose what health information to share. Its education resources explain infection risks and ways to reduce transmission, including guidance for people who have an infection. With user consent, anonymous alerts can notify individuals and partners about possible exposure when someone later tests positive. Swabber also aims to improve access to testing and treatment and offers a supportive, stigma-free approach to sexual health.
