The Sustainable Water Network (SWAN) is a dedicated network of 25 environmental NGOs in Ireland, working together to safeguard and enhance the country's water environment. Our primary goal is to influence water policies, both locally and on a national and EU level, to ensure the utmost protection for Ireland's aquatic resources. We also strive to align related policy areas like agriculture and marine planning with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive and Marine Strategy Framework Directive.

At SWAN, we advocate, engage, and support our members in participating in the development and implementation of water-related policies and legislation. We aim to raise awareness about the tremendous value of our water environment and the various threats it faces. Through our communications and awareness campaigns, we share solutions and proposals to address the key challenges impacting Ireland's water quality.
